Bremerhaven and Hamburg opt for LED lighting across the terminals

LEDs are energy efficient, require little maintenance and have a high lifespan. Several test projects using environmentally friendly LED lamps were carried out in both Bremerhaven and Hamburg. The aim in the mid-term is to make LEDs the standard lamps at the two terminals.

LED lamps for Hamburg’s gantry cranes

The technicians and engineers from EUROGATE Technical Services, in close cooperation with the facility’s crane operators, have fitted out the 305 container cranes located in the Hamburg terminal with LED lamps. As a result, the energy consumption of the cranes has been dramatically reduced.

Wind power: first nacelle arrives at the container terminal

The first nine of 18 nacelles for offshore wind power stations from Senvion GmbH have arrived at the south end of the Bremerhaven Container Terminal. They are an important component for the construction of the NORDERGRÜNDE wind farm off the east coast of Germany’s Wangerooge island.
