Around half of all accidents in Wilhelmshaven are linked to the securing and discharging, also known as lashing, of containers. Industrial employees were able to practise at length the precautions that need to be taken to ensure containers are securely lashed and how to work safely and ergonomically.
The industrial employees were also given “Fire training”. They practiced the use of hand-held fire extinguishers with the help of a fire extinguisher simulator.
