Handling of on- and offshore wind turbines

In addition to its core competence in container handling, EUROGATE offers comprehensive logistics services for the onshore and offshore wind energy industry.

    Services:

    • Import and export hub for onshore wind turbines
    • Base port for the installation of offshore wind farms
    • Service port for large components
    • Consulting, preparing and implementing customised transport, transhipment and storage solutions
    • Extensive value-added services, such as equipping or pre-assembling components

Sufficient storage areas, quayside space, high-performance equipment and experienced staff are available for performing these services. By virtue of the requirements for handling containers, the terminals have the capacity to store and transport heavy-duty components weighing up to 1,000 tonnes. It is also possible to jack up installation ships at the Stromkaje riverside quay. Transhipment in Bremerhaven is carried out using specially modified container gantries which allow the components to be loaded and unloaded quickly and safely. Large mobile cranes are also deployed depending on requirements. Transport at the terminal site takes place on SPMTs, roll trailers and other special equipment. For storage of sensitive parts, a 30,000 m² covered storage area is available in Bremerhaven.

EUROGATE works with its customers to develop a tailor-made and optimised services package. For this, it draws on years of know-how from previous projects. References in the onshore segment include Vestas, Senvion, Siemens and Gamesa. In the offshore segment, the EUROGATE terminals have served as service port for installing the Nordsee Ost, Global Tech 1 and Nordergründe wind farms and as service port for component exchanges.
