The EUROGATE joint venture MSC Gate is renewing its fleet of straddle carriers in Bremerhaven. Between now and mid-May of this year, a total of 16 new 4-high cranes manufactured by Konecranes will be put into operation.
The straddle carriers are being manufactured in Würzburg and are being shipped in individual components to Bremerhaven, where they have been being assembled since January.
The new straddle carriers differ from the machines used in the past in a number of technical features. For example, they have an additional access ladder designed to prevent accidents, are equipped with an exhaust gas treatment system with AdBlue injection and consume significantly less energy than the predecessor models thanks to hydrostatic drives.
