07.12.2020 - Bremen. Christian Lankenau appointed as new HR Director of EUROGATE Group.

CHRISTIAN LANKENAU APPOINTED AS NEW HR DIRECTOR OF EUROGATE GROUP

The EUROGATE Group shareholders BLG LOGISTICS and EUROKAI have appointed Christian Lankenau as the new HR Director in the Group Management Board of EUROGATE GmbH & Co. KGaA, KG. Effective from January 1, 2021, he will succeed Ulrike Riedel, who became Board member of BLG LOGISTICS as Labour Relations Director on July 1, 2020 and continues to act as HR Director of the EUROGATE Group on an interim basis until December 31, 2020. In his new role, Christian Lankenau will be responsible for HR, legal affairs and internal audit.

Christian Lankenau, born in 1977, completed an apprenticeship as a banker and studied business administration at the universities of Bremen (GER), Leeds (UK) and Caen (F), graduating with a diploma in business administration. After completing his studies, he worked in various functions at the auditing company KPMG in Bremen and Chicago (US) between 2004 and 2011. In 2011, he moved to NTB North Sea Terminal Bremerhaven as Commercial Director, becoming its Managing Director on July 1, 2017.

Michael Blach und Thomas Eckelmann the Chairmen of the Group Management Board of EUROGATE said on the appointment: “The EUROGATE Group in Germany is going through a difficult time and is facing great challenges for the future. A change in the position of HR Director in such a phase is not easy, especially since Ulrike Riedel has done and still does an excellent job here. We would therefore like to thank her very much for her performance, her commitment and her willingness to actively help shaping EUROGATE's fortunes until the end of the year, despite the double burden.

At the same time, we are pleased that we have succeeded in signing Christian Lankenau, a successor who, with his experience as Managing Director of NTB and his knowledge of the structures of the EUROGATE Group, can seamlessly take up and continue the important labour and social policy issues of our time. Christian Lankenau has also proven himself a trustworthy and reliable contact for the social partners in his current position. He is the right person for this task and we look forward to our future cooperation. "

The succession planning for the management board of NTB has already started.
