Wolfgang Schiemann has been Managing Director of SWOP – Seaworthy Packing GmbH, a member of the EUROGATE Group, since 1 April 2019. He succeeds Max Schultz, who left the company at the end of May 2019.
Michael Blach, Chairman of the Group Management Board, says: “With Wolfgang Schiemann, one of EUROGATE Group’s most experienced managers has taken over at the helm of SWOP. Drawing on his extensive expertise in our industry and our company, he has helped SWOP from day one to perpetuate the successful development of the past few years and continuously grow the company. I wish Wolfgang Schiemann continued success in his new position.”
Wolfgang Schiemann has worked for EUROGATE and its predecessor for almost 30 years. He began his career in 1990 at Euro-Kai a.A., and worked from 1994 at Eurokai Container Terminal KG a.A.. From January 2000 to June 2004, he was Director of Operations at EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg. From July of the same year until the end of 2016, he held the position of Managing Director of EUROGATE Container Terminal Bremerhaven. Between January 2017 and the end of 2018, he returned to EUROGATE Container Terminal Hamburg as Managing Director. Since January 2019, in addition to his role at SWOP, he has advised the Group Management Board of EUROGATE GmbH & Co. KGaA, KG. Wolfgang Schiemann also continues to serve as Managing Director of EUROKOMBI Terminal GmbH.
