Friedrich Stuhrmann was appointed managing director at MSC Gate Bremerhaven on 15 February 2018. He succeeds Ferdinand Möhring, who will take on other duties within the BLG Group.
Friedrich Stuhrmann is 36-years-old and has worked for EUROGATE for more than 10 years. After studying transport economics at the Technical University of Dresden, he took up a position as a Junior Manager with the EUROGATE Group in 2007. In 2011, he was appointed Commercial Manager and authorised representative at the EUROGATE Container Terminal Bremerhaven.
As managing director of the EUROGATE joint venture, he is faced with a number of challenges. “Competition is getting tougher in the North Range. We can only prevail if we continue to work on our productivity, offer prices that are in line with the market in the long term and deliver our best performance to our customers.”
MSC Gate was established in Bremerhaven on 1 October 2004 with two berths, four container cranes and 20 straddle carriers. The company currently operates with 12 container cranes, 60 straddle carriers and on four berths with a quay length of more than 1,200 metres. The joint venture between EUROGATE and Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), which was established by the MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company, recently handled its ten-millionth container.
