21.09.2011 - Tangier. Navis User Group Conference hosted by EUROGATE Tanger.

The Work Group, this year counting over 50 participants from more than 20 European and Mediterranean terminals, will exchange ideas and experiences on Navis products, identifying potential improvements and future developments for the benefit of the container terminal operations and management.

The most innovative projects in container terminal operations will be analysed and discussed through presentation of concrete case studies, such as the new gate automation project initiated at DPW Antwerp and the real time location system of internal trucks carried out at EUROGATE Tanger.

“I’m really proud”, says Marco Mignogna, CEO of EUROGATE Tanger, “to have the opportunity to host this conference which, looking at the participants and the topics, I am sure will outline the future developments of container terminal management. I have to highlight that such a conference also represents a good opportunity to establish a closer relationship between the European and Mediterranean ports in general”.

“I’m so excited to be the Chairman of this 16th edition of the European and Mediterranean Navis User Group Conference”, comments Marco Fehmer, General Manager of DSP Data and System Planning. “When we began this adventure, ten years ago, there were only a few of us, and today we are more than fifty. A goal achieved thanks to the extraordinary commitment of several colleagues and friends that, year after year, have believed in this initiative.”

Eight out of the total nine container terminals of the EUROGATE/Contship Italia network will send representatives to Tangier. For the first time, the conference sees the participation of the youngest member of the familiy, the EUROGATE Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven, which will start operation in August 2012. EUROGATE has decided to implement the latest release of the Navis terminal operation system solution in Wilhelmshaven, too.
