The EUROGATE Tanger S.A. container terminal is uniquely situated on the Strait of Gibraltar in Morocco, 14 km away from the European mainland. Every year, over 71,000 vessels pass through the strait, which is the eye for the main shipping routes between the Middle/Far East, Northern Europe and America. Tangier is at the intertrade crossroads of various liner services in the Med-West gateway to the Atlantic Ocean. Located in a free trade zone to the east of the city of Tangier, the EUROGATE Tanger container terminal is Africa’s gateway to the world and a bridge between continents. Most of all, it is the ideal transhipment hub for the western Mediterranean as well as for Africa and South America. With a quay length of 812 m, a terminal area of 400,000 m² and a water depth of up to 18 m, the facility is well-equipped to handle the world’s biggest container vessels.
Shipping lines appreciate our quality of service. Consequently, the terminal is facing continuous growth. In 2014, we handled 1.4 million TEUs, 33 percent more than the previous year. EUROGATE Tanger offers the productivity of Europe's Number One shipping line-independent container terminal operator. Our staff have been trained abroad, at the EUROGATE and Contship Italia terminals in Germany and Italy. We only use state-of-the-art technology.
